Chapter 9 – Leo thinks about what he learned
The class finishes their city projects. The teacher smiles and looks at the students.
— Great work, everyone!
Leo feels proud of his project.
— I liked this activity.
The teacher gives the students a worksheet.
— Now it is time for self-assessment.
Leo looks at the paper.
— What is self-assessment?
The teacher explains.
— Self-assessment means thinking about what you learned.
Leo reads the questions.
— Did I learn places in the city?
— Did I learn how to use there is / there are?
— Can I give directions?
— Can I understand a route on Google Maps?
Leo thinks for a moment.
— Yes! I learned many things.
His friend looks at his worksheet.
— I learned new words like library, museum, and restaurant.
Leo nods.
— And I learned turn left, turn right, and go straight.
His friend smiles.
— And we used Google Maps!
Leo remembers the day he helped his mum.
— Yes! Now I can help people find places in the city.
The teacher asks the class:
— How do you feel about this project?
Leo raises his hand.
— I feel happy because I can give directions now.
His friend says:
— I feel confident with Google Maps.
The teacher smiles.
— Excellent! Learning a language helps us move around the world.
Leo closes his notebook.
— Sunny Town was a great adventure.
Max the dog waits outside the school.
— Woof!
Leo laughs.
— Maybe tomorrow we can explore another city!
